Back4Good® Programme

The Back4Good® programme has been developed specifically to help those with low back pain by using tailored Pilates-based exercises that are safe and effective.

The Back4Good® programme fulfils one of the three core treatments for the 2009 NICE guidance on Back Pain: regular exercise.

Referral to the Back4Good® Programme – If your doctor, physiotherapist, osteopath or chiropractor refers you to a Back4Good® Practitioner – or if you enrol for the ‘Healthy Back’ classes – you can have total peace of mind that you are being taught by a qualified professional who understands your needs.

More than 80% of adults in the UK suffer from lower back pain at some time in their life. Its one of the most common reasons why people take time off work and may be distressing and frustrating as quality of life often suffers.

Testimonial after B4Good class: Hi Corali, I Just wanted to say thank you for tonight, my back feels so much better!

Gentle and effective exercise delivered by a properly trained exercise professional, can help with prevention and management. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines recommend that people with persistent non-specific low back pain should be encouraged to stay physically active and take up exercise.

Non-specific low back pain is tension, soreness and/or stiffness in the lower back region, for which a specific cause has not been identified.

What is the Back4Good® Programme?

If you want an effective way to strengthen your back or to prevent back pain, then the Back4Good® programme is for you. Healthy Back Classes will run with a maximum of 6 people to ensure plenty of attention for each individual. Coming to regular weekly classes will give you the confidence you need and the strength to enjoy better movement and less pain.

The programme helps you learn the Pilates ABC’s: Alignment, Breathing and Centring (Core Stability)

-Strengthens the core abdominals that do so much for your posture and back support.

-There will be a series of exercises designed to control your movements, improve posture, increase the strength & flexibility of your back.

I promote a ‘Get Active’ programme at home as a way of continuing to exercise when away from Back4Good® classes/programme.

Why come to me?

All Back4Good® practitioners are experienced Body Control Pilates teachers, having undertaken additional training in exercise referral and low back pain training.
